The journey of Bat Factory Mumbai began with its founder, Aman Mahajan, who sought to understand cricket bat manufacturing at its source. In the early years of his career, he travelled to North India and worked within an established cricket bat manufacturing setup. During this period, he acquired hands-on experience across multiple stages of production, including wood selection, bat shaping, finishing, and quality assurance. This exposure provided a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes and operational discipline. Building on this experience, Aman Mahajan returned to Mumbai and established Bat Factory Mumbai as a parent organisation focused on cricket bat manufacturing, wholesaling, and retailing. The enterprise initially operated on a modest scale and expanded gradually through a consistent emphasis on product quality, operational reliability, and market understanding.

As the organisation grew, Bat Factory Mumbai developed specialised brands to address distinct market segments. SBF was introduced as a performance-oriented brand aimed at experienced and competitive players.
